No Brown Wire

I did the canisterectomy and installed a Thomas air compressor. While I had the top case off, I notice I had a Cat code plug. It is getting hot and the bike has been hesitating. I looked for the brown wire to cut but I did not have one. The bike has a manufacture date of 07/00. According to Hall of Wisdom my bike should have the corrected Motronic, thus I pulled the plug. What should I notice if I do not have the corrected Motronic?
