Low beam headlight.

I have an 05 LT. Is it possible to replace the low beam headlight with a bright headlight bulb? I have PIAAs on it also, but was wondering if I can put a brighter bulb in with out burning anything out. The PIAAs get really hot, and being $250 a crack, I don't want to keep replacing them every 2 yrs. Any recommendations is appreciated.

Re: Low beam headlight.

Look at the DDM HID kit to replace your low beam.

Search the forum and you will find lots of info on them. Much brighter and inexpensive.

I would suggest 35W / 4000K or 4500K

Re: Low beam headlight.

Like rcoolbaugh said go with HID you won't be disappointed. Just don't add a higher wattage incandescent bulb as the wiring will not handle it (35 or 55watt HID is OK).

Re: Low beam headlight.

The only real good fix is an HID conversion. Everything available has been tried over the years, but everything else pales in comparison to HID. Many of us spent hundreds of dollars to convert in the early years of the LT, fortunately there are several low cost kits available now.

As already said, go for 35W, no higher than 5000K color temp. You will be amazed at the difference.
