Has anybody bought a 2009 LT? I have read about the incentives. The low interest financing or free $1500. of acceriories and intercom. My question though is should you still have to pay MSRP for a 2009 model. Thanks

Re: Msrp

I think that'll really depend on your geographic location and the local economy. I paid MSRP for my 2009 but that was in June of 2008. If it were me (which it isn't) I'd expect something from the dealer with respect to a discount. The bike may be technically new but it's already a model year old. LT's don't hold their value worth a crap so you're already starting in the hole as far as resale. Just my 2 cents worth.

Re: Msrp

Just look for a 07 and buy it.

You will save 1/3 or better off the price, maybe have some modifications you like, get the full com system, you will never look back.

Or how important is NEW to you and your wallet.

Remember they don't recommend running synthetic oil in these until 18-24,000 miles.

Until they have the new LT sitting in the showroom, I would not expect them to move off MSRP too much.

Re: Msrp

So maybe you just tell the dealer at MSRP, you'll just wait for the new one to come out. See what he says to that.

I would also agree with Lee, look for an '06 or '07. It's the same bike as the '09, but with the communication system standard equipment. There are deals to be had.

I bought my '07 new in Feb, '07 (the dealer had three in the showroom, I paid cash and got $1500 off of MSRP). However, I would be very hesitant to buy the last year of a model that will be substantially re-engineered the following year. Talk about depreciation.

Re: Msrp

I bought mine in Jan. for $19500 which included the comm and the GPS and got 5 year financing at 6%. Of course the next month they offer 4% The MSRP was listed at $21,500. So if their is still one out there they had better discount it!!! Or like others have said, you could buy used.

Re: Msrp

I bought a new 09 and love it. I ride with a friend that has an 02 with 110K miles on it. It is just as reliable as mine. I would buy a used one next time...They are well engineered and when properly maintained...darn good machines!
