Which coolant

I have used Castrol motorcycle coolant to top up my coolant recently but on the back of the bottle it says not recommended for magnesium alloy engines.

Is my '03 plate K1200LT magnesium and if so what coolant should I be using?

Cheers.

Re: Which coolant

There are a couple of covers on the LT that are magnesium but the block with its coolant passages are aluminum.

Re: Which coolant

Q: Which coolant

A: Just about any

Any NITRATE, phosphate, silicate free EXTENDED LIFE formula like PRESTONE 5/150000:

This is the right answer, and to my knowledge all coolant meets those requirements these day.
