Damage Report, headlight & fairing

I'm embarrassed to report that I dropped my bike ('03 LT) making a very clumsy U-turn (not looking where I wanted to go but where I was going) and ran into a steel pole. Result; completely smashed front headlight and housing as well as an awkward band of scrapped paint across the front of the top fairing smack in the middle of the light area. Does anyone know where I can find (in Los Angeles) a headlight housing and probably a front fairing? Dealer quote over $1000. Ouch.

Re: Damage Report, headlight & fairing

Hey Bill,
Hit the pole, ouch! What a bummer. The headlight assembly can be had for $385.00 from http://www.beemerboneyard.com/63127701746.html and you can find the fairing on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-K...Q5fAccessories. Damn dude your luck is severe with a deer strike and a pole strike in such close proximity and without injury to you; you must have a guardian angel protecting you. I'm glad you're okay. I hope this helps you.
Kind regards,
Don

Thumbs up Re: Damage Report, headlight & fairing

Thanks Don. Ordered the light, thinking about the fairing. Looks as though the damage on the used one is about as bad/good as the damage on mine. But the light looks good. By the time I get this thing back where it was when I bought it I'll have purchased a couple new bikes. Appreciate your help.
