What type of bike do you ride?

After reading many posts on tires and peg dragging I have to ask myself what are we riding.
My understanding is that this is a touring bike, it may very well be capable of more but not designed as a cafe racer.

So if your tires are squirming or not holding, just how aggressive are you riding?
I think the Metzes are just fine for what the bike was designed to do.
If you want to squeeze the sport bike out of her, then maybe other tire are in order.

My 2 cents worth

450 Yamaha Seca ( maybe it was a Maxim )
1100 Honda Magna
650 Honda XR ( to Guatemala and back)
1990 Honda PC800 ( Mountain Mama )
2000 BMW 1200LT ( Maxamillion )

Keep the rubber side down

Ditto on the Metzelers. I have never had an issue with them except in the rain in NY and NJ weekend before last on I-87 and I-287. There was a large tar strip between lanes and it was an eye opener when I leaned into a lane change and hit that!!! I had to make careful lane changes after that and sort of got used to it by the time I rode out of the rain. There was no aggressive riding that day.

Re: What type of bike do you ride?

The LT is a SPORT TOURING bike....which means I can put it hard into turns once I get there on the interstate. It's not a cruiser which you can't put it over hard. there are only 2 tires designed for the LT...the Mezt and the Bridestones. At least that's what my dealer said. (and i trust his info) Believe me I rode my LT hard into turns coming off the mountain at Grandfather mountain this past w/e. I'm sure sport bike would have performed better, but I know no cruiser would have!!
