Thanks for the speedo fix 'n stuff

Thanks to those who posted in the past what to look for regarding intermittent speedometer.
My 2000 at 75K miles recently started having the speedometer drop periodically. Of course that made the cruise control cut out.
I remember reading the posts and did a quick search.
My memory was refreshed.
Two known causes. The ring inside the final drive slipping on its seat thus giving the sensor no signal, OR the broken wire where a zip tie has the speedo wire crimped hard again a brake line swage fitting.

My speedo issue was the broken wire problem that was so nicely described by folks in previous posts. I went right to the spot, soldered in a new section and we're off! Having that problem reported previously made troubleshooting a breeze, actually no troubling troubleshooting at all. Thanks to those who reported about this problem for the benefit of us all.
