Has the K1200 LT been discontinued in 2010?

I was looking at BMW's website and I didn't see the K1200LT listed in their touring bikes section.

This might be old news but I wasn't aware of BMW dropping this bike which is their flagship tourer.

Uhhhhhh........still listed in this side of the border Interweb thingy.

http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/us/en/index.html

But you're right, it looks like you Canuks can't get the LT.

Plus, yesterday at the IMS Motorcycle Show in NYC, BMW NA did not have one LT on display. Hmmmm..........Let the conspiracy chatter begin!

But all the links and downloads still show it as a 2009 model.

But I think it's a ploy by President Obama. He wants all the Canadians to come south of the border and spend their money at U.S. BMW dealers to buy their K1200LT to help stimulate our economy.

Yeah, we're going to have to keep an eye on this Obama character!

The USA BMW web page was really slow to download on my computer and I didn't have the patience to wait for my old computer to download it but it did list the K1200LT in 2010.

It kind of looks like they might be phasing it out, maybe the 2010 is the last year for this bike as we know it?

I heard that the new 6 cyl version was going to be released in Canada first. That way they can charge a lot more for it.

Wow, I had no idea that the last production year for the K1200LT was 2008!

So, any new LTs sitting on the showroom floor right now are leftover actually 2008s, I wasn't aware of that.

All the 2009 models were build in 2008. I bought my 2009 LT in July 2008. I wonder how many unsold 2009 bikes remain? You'd think the inventory must be getting low by now.

Re: Has the K1200 LT been discontinued in 2010?

I love my 2005 LT, affectionately known as Blu-Rae. Just got back from the Jacob Javits Motorcycle Show in Manhattan. It was a huge disappointment when my riding buddies and I looked over the new Gold Wings and Harleys, which they ride, and we arrived at the BMW show and there was NO K1200LT. They like my LT, too, but took pity on me that the LT didn't make the show.

Here's hoping the LT lives long and prospers,
Robert

I bought my 09 in late October. At the time there were less than 50 in the NJ warehouse.

Lots of speculation on this board about the six-cylinder LT. Hope the speculation is true.

The whole LT production line was dismantled in 2008 and the factory produced bikes to stock according to sales estimations to different market areas. The idea was that the stock should run out by the time the new model is introduced.
So there is no sense to bring a discontinued bike to a showroom...

Now let's if the stock of 50 bikes will run out before the new six cylinder comes out.

Re: Has the K1200 LT been discontinued in 2010?

I was at the bike show in NY on Friday and spoke to the western states sales rep. I asked him about any news regarding the new LT and he smirked and gave a no comment. He asked me if I saw the concept bike on the net but said nothing after that. The most I could get out of him is there will be nothing before 2011.

We'd be happy to send him there - as long as you promise not to "Re-Gift" him.
