What is the secret?

for removing the liner out of the bottom of the rear trunk. Have pulled up the back half of the liner and can look into trunk from the from the back of it but I cannot get the front half removed from the latching mech for the trunk itself. I see no screws or hasps it appears that it is supposed to lift right out. Any suggestions?

Re: What is the secret?

On the rear side of each latch hook (look down inside) there is a plastic tab that needs to be pressed rearward to clear the hook mechanism.

Re: What is the secret?

If I recall, there were two tabs in the front. You have to shove a small screwdriver between the liner and the case to release. Also mine had Velcro strips.

Re: What is the secret?

One of my products requires that you remove the trunk (and hence, remove the liner). For detailed instrucitons, you can download my doc at http://riderwest.com/K1200LT-Tail-TurnSignalStrips.htm. Hope this helps.

Wink Re: What is the secret?

Just an added FYI: I have an old butter knife that I simply leave in the bottom of my trunk all the time, and it is perfect for getting down behind those pesky tabs by the latches! It is flat enough that it just remains under the trunk bag whenever I have it in place (like on a long ride) with no problem.
