Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

I have never owned an LT but have commited to buy '05 one in Seattle in a few days. My wife will be going with me to pick it up and travel back with me. Will she comfortably reach the stock pegs or will I have to considering changing to the adjustable ones?

My best friend is 5'2" and she reached the pegs OK. I bought here some passenger floor boards and she is much more comfortable.

While the wife is not 14 (any more) she is 4'11. Stock seat and stock pegs work so good for her, that she told me to take off the Corbin and she did not need floor boards.

Re: Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

Suggest the adjustable pegs from Bob's BMW or the BMW floorboards. My problem with the boards was they cut into the back of my heels. W is 4'10"

Congrats on your find. Ride safe!

Re: Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

My 5'2" wife also said she was very happy with the stock pegs.........until I tried some adjustable boards. She was so comfortable with them that she threatened me with my life if I took the boards back off.

She also rides with them all the way to the top.

Re: Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

My wife is 5'2" and she whines a little about the pegs being low. This indicates 3 things to me:

1.) The pegs are low
2.) She's not complaining about the seat comfort and
3.) She's riding with me.

Number 3 is the most important! Should fix the pegs.

Re: Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

My wife is 5' 2" and the stock pegs lasted about a week after getting the '09 LT, then it was time to get the floorboards, at her insistence. We had passenger floorboards on our old Moto Guzzi and she found the floorboards much more comfortable and she felt more secure because she got a better grip than with the pegs. Congrats on the LT purchase.

The 'ol SO would probably brain me if I put it in writing how sh.. I mean TALL she is But let's just say she's definitely in the ballpark with the numbers being thrown around. She was always very comfy on the LT, although she almost always has heels that are a few inches long on.

My wife is perfectly comfortable on the LT. She's barely 5' 2".

My wife is 5'4", and still weighs in at 115 lbs, after 28 years of marriage. Man, that woman is HOT!

But, I digress... She's just fine on the stock pegs, and turned down the offer of floorboards. She'll also kill me if she ever sees this post!! LOL

My wife is just a little taller (5'6")
but she has said that the BMW floorboards are near the top of the list of things she likes about the LT
the others are the seat, intercom
and her Gerbings heated liner and pants.

and of course the rider.

Re: Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

My wife is 5'7" and very comfortable on the back of the LT. My sister is 4'11" on a good day and long past 14. She came for a visit this spring and we put about 500 miles on the LT. She loved it and was very comfortable. Every day she wanted to get on the bike and go. The great thing is if your piilion is not comfortable there are a lot of aftermarket things to make it work. Enjoy the ride.

Re: Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

My wife is 14 years old, 5'4" and 120lbs.

Before the foot peg risers and Muddiman armrests modified with visco foam she was not all that fond of riding on the LT. Says it makes her feel much more secure.

She likes riding now so much I think I may stay married to her until she's 18 or so, then trade her in for a newer, younger model.

Oh yeah, after 16 years of marriage she still cooks.

The problem you will have here is once you complete the "trade-in" the new model will always break down, you'll have to reset the modec and constantly adjust the valves... Much easier to say yes dear and keep the current and not make those terribly high payments....

My wife (also 5'2") is actually looking for some riding boots. Would it be wrong of me to suggest these. Probably a bad idea as we would never leave the house (he he).

Re: Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

My wife is 5'4" tall. We've had two LTs. The first with the standard pegs and second one with the Illimworks boards and risers. She is much happier with the floorboards and risers, though she told me just having the risers and pegs would be okay.

My wife is under 5'2" and has never mentioned any problem with the rear pegs either mounting/dismounting or sitting. We could use about twice the luggage space though.

Re: Can a 5'2" passenger comfortable reach the stock pegs.

My wife is 5'3" and the second bike came with risers. She was always ok before without them. The real trick would be for me to take the risers off now and not tell her and see if she notices anything. That would be a good blind control group test do you guys think. I could also move them up a hole at a time until she says something.

I like your way of thinking. That sounds like a good thing if I want to sleep on the couch. Never mind I already sleep there. I will have to do some testing and give everyone a report back.
