How do you remove the winglets. Did a search but nothing came up.

Thank You

I could be wrong on my description but isn't that what the piece on the fairing, underneath the mirrors, is called that you can rotate to deflect/route the airstream.

winglet

If your talking about the ones that rotate under the mirrors. There are 3 screws under the mirror and they just come off. If you mean the ones next to the windshield then its more involved. You have to take off the instrument cover. Let us know which one you want.

What Dave said. Knock the mirror off with the heel of the hand to access all the screws. If they were on the "hawk" they'd probably be called Ventral Vertical Vent Strakes, 2 ea. ;^)

If you are going to do more exploratory surgery, check out the DVD by Paul Sayegh found elsewhere on this site. Makes removing all the tupperware a cake.

Find it here: http://www.sayegh.org/bmw.htm

Garage
And always knock them off from front towards the back. Hitting them forward stresses the front mounting point and will eventually cause it to fail. Firm but smooth works best.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
