I'm sure that's why he specifically went for a ride there. To use up the rest of the tire.

Re: Tires are expensive... But Really?

You got to be a Georgia Police officer. That isn't anywhere near a GA tag. Our renewal stickers go at the bottom right of the license plate not the top right.

The plate frame says Honda on the bottom row and I can read the numbers on the plate but not the state. It's not a CA plate

You'd be amazed at where they end up on the license plate though. A nice little indentation on the plate, a note telling you where to put it and it still ends up all over. Admittedly much more so on cages though. But with my high quality government monitor I couldn't make out the tag sequence to tell if it really was a GA tag!

I eat my own words. Now that someone has enhanced it, it is NOT a GA plate.

Re: Tires are expensive... But Really?

Actually, the two-up photo looks pretty good to me........

Two well dressed motorcyclists with good gear...
The bike is well set-up for the corner...
Good rider head position...
Well over from the yellow centerline...
She obviously has total trust in his ability...
OK, maybe she should be paying a little more attention but they seem in harmony. Like they've done this a million times.

Treadwear? Looks kind of like a racing slick to me. Everywhere but that bald section down the middle.

Did anyone notice the brake lights in the middle of the turn?

I am guessing that you guys aren't that familiar with Western NC?

This is how the majority of riders are.
Few and far inbetween are the good riders.

The novice out number experience, or they wouldn't be at Deal's Gap.

It's on Killboy's highlights page this week, so it was probably taken within the past week. Maybe it was Rob (RVB1019) on the way home from STC last month? (sorry, Rob)

Been on the gap and seen folks just like that. And I agree with MikeERideWNC, there are a lot of novice and inexperienced riders on Deals Gap. My favorite days for going through there are not Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Re: Tires are expensive... But Really?

I just got new Metzlers today after my super secret ones hit 22000 miles. Never happened to me before. I would be glad to send the old ones to this guy because the wrench said I could have gotten another 5000 out of them. At least mine still look like tires.

Re: Tires are expensive... But Really?

I must be paranoid

I have several or so sets of tires in the garage waiting for disposal (someday I'll drive the cage to the dealer and take them with me)....

NONE of them look anywhere near what that tire looks like.

If I had to ride that I think I'd keep it under 30 MPH, thats about as fast as I wanna be going if I have to hit the ground
