Trunk Light and Map Light Operation

Hello All,

I have a 2005 LT

I noticed the trunk light has three settings.
1. Top currently does nothing
2. Middle is OFF I believe
3. Bottom is ON when key is turned to the ON position

The map light also has three settings.
1. Top is ON
2. Middle is OFF
3. Bottom is ON when ground lights are on, then shuts out

Can someone confirm this and how it should work.

Sounds like an 05 and up bike and yes that is the function as you listed. The trunk light will go out if you close the trunk with it left on.

Which leads to the next question, How do you know ?.

My dog can´t speak and a 6 month old baby wouldn´t be able to tell you either.

Yes Simon, same dilemma as with the refrigerator light, it is always on when you open the door but how do you know that it is not on ALL the time...

Ari, for one moment I thought you were going to tell us YOUR dog CAN speak.

Same as the joke about why Scots ( supposed to be careful with their money ) don´t buy refridgerators because they worry about the light staying on.

My dog must be smarter than your dog, he can speak when commanded.
