Get A Grip

My 99 Light Truck has 88k miles , still going strong.... but
the ORIGINAL RUBBER is getting a little tired
No ... Not the tires, I just replaced them ( BT020s )

It's my Grips
They are quite worn in the inside ( Road Crown ? )
And they leave black junk on my nice clean white gloves

??? Do I risk ruining the heaters if I cut them off ?

??? Can I use a foam grip ( like a GrabOn ) without them melting when the heat is on ?

??? Or Am I damned to use the stockers forever,
else replace them with OEM's ?

I Can't do without heated grips ( even though it was 92 here in Boston today ) .

Thanks,
Oldwing

Re: Get A Grip

Take a read thru the first post in this thread. Had mine for several years and would replace 'em in a heartbeat if sumpthin' happened to 'em.

Edit: btw, the heated grip function isn't impaired, as best I can tell. I think gloves do more impairment than the 'puppies'.

Thumbs up Re: Get A Grip

I installed the Grip Puppies this year. The heaters work just fine through them and I don't get the cramping in the hands from the stock grips. I used the "screwdriver" method of installation. It was a breeze, and no worry of bubbles or "slippage" afterwards.
