K1200LTC Seat Conversion

Anyone out there have good directions on how to change to the lower seat on the LT ?
I have a 2002, and have purchased a lower seat, but there is alot of things im not clear on.
First, how much plastic needs to be removed, and what brackets do I need to cut off or add to put the lower seat on.

I would love some good pictures, and good instructions if anyone has any..

No pics, but I managed to get mine lowered enough just by removing the seat height adjuster bar and cut off the rubber stops. Of course I had to lower the latch. Took me about 15 minutes.
Check the hall of wisdom for pics are probably there of someone lowering their seat as you are wanting todo.

Bought used K1200LT number 3. This one is green/teal with 31,369(now 7/29/2018 54,143) miles and is an '02. The first 2 bikes made it to near 150,000 miles.

Due to heart health, the Dr says not to ride under 40 degree air temp. Ugh! Now it is harder to get my 18000 miles a year in just in the summer. Guess that stopped my 20 degree rides now.

Corbin.com has the mods required on their web-site. I did mine about 5 years ago.

Re: K1200LTC Seat Conversion

I looked at going to the low seat, but once I saw the pictures of what you are supposed to cut off, more than the plastic, I just couldn't go through with it. I sent the low seat back and settled for taking out the rubber bumpers on the bottom and getting rid of the adjuster bar. The plastic was bad enough, but the thouight of taking out the supports for the top of the plastic really got to me. Good luck!
