Trans Drain Plug - Gasket?

I am in the middle of chaning the trans fluid. Is there a crush washer or o-ring for the drain plug on the trans? I am not seeing one.

No crush washer on mine....only on the fill plug.

I wish I could think of clever things to say in my signature.

Re: Trans Drain Plug - Gasket?

look at the top of the K1200lt form page under Site FAQ and type in the search box:

Where is the transmission drain plug?

It will tell you more about changing your oil

No gasket as others have said BUT, keep the mating surfaces and threads clean!

Re: Trans Drain Plug - Gasket?

Got it! It threw me off with all the crush washers and o-rings, that the trans drain didn't have one. All back together and just got back from a test ride. No leaks anywhere. Engine oil, trans oil and final drive all done. Thank you guys!!!

Re: Trans Drain Plug - Gasket?

I wondered the same thing when I did my first oil change.

People on this site were kind enough that, unlike the rear end, there wasn't a washer.
