So how many people here have lost their balls?

Got your attention, huh?

The balls I am speaking of are the 6mm ball bearings that are used to hold the passenger pegs in position (up or down). When I took possession of my '01 this spring, my steed was missing her balls (Hmmm... I think this might mean it's a gelding?)... and the passenger pegs would flop like a bluefish on a boat deck when underway. BMW wants $0.50 per ball, plus the obligatory $7.95 shipping - so I did what any modern shopper would do and turned to E-bay. Found 100 of 'em for $9.00 with free shipping - so I am now the proud owner of 98 excess balls.

If anyone here is in need of a set, PM me and I'll be happy to send you some as a small token of appreciation of all this forum has passed on to me over the past few months.

Wow I felt pretty dumb when I did just that.

Ping and I didn't see where it went. I did find an old ball bearing to tear apart and it was a tad smaller but not stainless steel like the original but it works just the same.

Lost mine when I said "I do".

Wouldn't know what to do with a set now, but thanks anyway.
