BMW Alarm System

Hey folks. Just bought my 2002 K12LT from a local gent who had all the service completed for me at Bob's... At the same time, he had them remove the alarm system (he had a problem with it after the battery died and the fob wouldn't work). I now find myself with a complete alarm system in a box, with no instructions/manuals to go with it. I'm wondering, is something like this valuable to anyone, or should it just go in the elctronics trash bin?

Comments anyone?

Re: BMW Alarm System

I am amazed that they, if what you say is correct, dismantled the system without trying to fix it first.

Re: BMW Alarm System

They didn't want to mess with it! Apparently it plugs into the existing harness, so the shop just unplugged it.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't want anything on the bike that could potentially strand me!

Re: BMW Alarm System

Just did a google search and looks like BMW alarms sell for $400 to $500 new, so list it on E-bay or craigslist for about half that and see if you any lookers. I've had good luck on Craigslist and it's FREE. Make sure you state that it is sold "AS IS" to CYA (cover your ass)

Re: BMW Alarm System

Look at it another way. You could be stranded if someone liked it and you didnīt hear about it.
