Any color....as long as it's black

So after a couple years without an LT and trying a couple other scoots....I'm back to an LT. Picked up a new '09 yesterday. As you all know, it comes in the "Henry Ford" color of black, black or black. Now while I like black (I've had a few sports cars in black) I've always been partial to the classic BMW light silver. (as was the color of my '03)

While I'm sure I'll learn to go from "like" to "love" on the color of my new scoot, part of the process for me is letting me think through all the options. So has anyone had their entire bike painted? How much did it run? A solid color, or some airbrushing custom graphics? Any pics?

Thanks guys!

Scott

I had part of my black 03 painted yellow. This was an expensive, custom paint job (about $2500), by someone who usually airbrushes Harleys (though she actualy rides a BMW). Attached is what me, my bike, and unigo trailer look like.

Here are 2 bikes painted by our very own David Kinsey. First is davids LT that he painted everything black, All the chrome and even the forks. Check out the wheels also.

Next we have Grif's GT that David painted.

Re: Any color....as long as it's black

I tell you what. I have a nice canyon red bike that I will trade you even up for that black one. That way you don't have to worry about painting.

I think what will cost you the most is the removal of all the painted parts. If you remove everything yourself and get it to a painter it cut the price I would guess in half. But then again if you want to change the color from black to light gray there may be some extra work involved to make sure you get the right color.

Here is mine ... the day after I collected it. Had the Dealership paint it ... that meant my warranty is still intact and the paint is covered. Initial plan was to get it the GT Crystal Silver but they couldn't match it ... I am glad they did not.

A bad day on the bike beats a good day in the office.
