more room

Greetings,

We are getting ready for a 8 day ride from middle georgia up the blueridge parkway, over to washington dc, down the outerbanks/east cost highway back to georgia.

problem. my wife is big ogar of a woman. she has a slight hump in her back, appears to trying to smuggle melons under her shirt, and is becoming wider in the butt daily .

I have to get her more room or it will be a miserable experience from hell. I have moved the box back and removed my backrest. Has anyone ever tried to redrill the box.

seriously, I really do need suggestions on how to make her more comfortable, or else.

thanks,
dale

Re: more room

Somewhere I've read about someone that did just that,
I'm certain it could be done but rather than re-drill the box,

I would add a few holes to the "plate" that the box sits on
since no-one is ever going to see it anyway

Or, pay the price: get her a spot in the BRC so she can get her license . Everyone knows there's more room in the front seat; you could then ride pillion.

The pictures are no longer available. Contact Ron K. Miller he did the mod first and may still have pictures. I've done it and it works just fine, just remember to take the top box off completely don't try to balance it on the bike while you work on it and don't forget to add the spacers at the back of box.

Yep, thats what it is..... high should get to about 8 degrees, tonights low suppose to be -5. But there's a heat wave coming for the weekend should make it to the 40's. that should help get rid of the foot of snow we have too.

A guy on the forum build these relocators. I will PM you his email address. Don't try and drill into the bike or the trunk. Get these bars or make them yourself.
