Exclamation CB Probelm

I fitted a BMW CB on my 06 LT (Voice ll) When it was keyed it there was no output on the SWR meter. BMW Changed it for me. The second one I was meticulous in fitting, ensuring all the connectors were sanded and clean, particularly the grounds. I have a screeching noise coming through the headphones and on other radios when I transmit. Same on HP and LP. Anyone come across this and or have any ideas for a fix

Re: CB Probelm

I had the same problem on mine, although it's not the BMW-brand for the LT it's the Motorola. Local CB guy tuned the antenna and I replaced the cable from the ant. to the radio (cheap quality); with those 2 fixes, the squeal is now only on high power. Local CB guy had said at first the mic was shorted but we tried the other helmet's mic and it squealed too.

The mic does not have a gain adjustment but I have adjusted the vox level on my intercom (Intaride EVO) and that seems to have helped.

Re: CB Probelm

Did you measure the SWR again?

Are you able to hear any of the transmissions from the radios hearing your squeeeeeal?
