Rock vs Headlight , rock wins

While riding on the I-40 a truck launched a rock. This has happened often so I just kept going another 170+ miles around the block. When I got home I discovered the rock, still inside my head light.
I tried e-bay, lt parts and beemer bone yard. Does anyone know where I can find a head light for a "99.

You may get lucky with :

Cycles Recycled

I've e-mailed Fred before, but, never did any business. Others nearby say he's a stand up guy.

Try also www.beemerboneyard.com and www.ltparts.com, and I believe both are vendors supporting this site.

when you get the new one installed, you might want to invest in one of the headlight protectors like from Aeroflow

Re: Rock vs Headlight , rock wins

It takes a while, and you have to check all the forums and marketplaces that are about the LT every day it seems. Eventually, someone parts out a decent headlight. Being in the front, and prone to damage from road debris, there are not many used headlights around. I got lucky, but it still costs a couple hundred. Put your name on the waiting list at beemerbonyard too, it can't hurt.
And a thumbs up to the headlight protector, nice and solid.
Best of luck.
Rick

This Guy is parting out AN LT on E'bay. Contact him and see if he still has the headlight. Then order aHEADLIGHT ARMOR to protect it.

Re: Rock vs Headlight , rock wins

I hit an owl a couple years back while doing 70mph. Hit me square in the headlight. Luckily, I had an aeroflow cover. It snapped the cover in half but spared the headlight! Cheap insurance!

Another +1 for the headlight cover. I think mine is from Cee Baily but it came with the bike when I bought it. I would not have bought one myself until that ONE DAY when I saw the rock bounce off the road and up.....POW!!!!!! Headlight is OK.

Re: Rock vs Headlight , rock wins

We all have a lesson or two to learn along the way...

I'm sure a 40.00 headlight protector will seem cheap compared to the replacement headlight assembly..

Sorry to hear of your misfortune..
