Whats this for?

Anyone give me an idea what this wire is for? it was just sitting on top of the tank, my bike's a 2000 uk, must go into something this bike hasn't got but i'm just curious as to what its for? thank for your time.

If your bike would be the facelift (´05 US, ´04 EUR) model I would say that this cable is the power supply for the BMW navigator. In my bike I have a similar (but shorter) connector for the BMW Navi.

Perhaps the navigator prewiring was also in earlier models...

I thought that myself, but the wires are thin gage, one yellow one white,

I believe that there was a built in BMW Navigator on the early model European only models of the LT. It is possible that is what that wire is for. Also, it wouldn't have to be that heavy a guage wire to support its use.
