" Added to the oil, XADO Gel will restore the geometry of the gears and worn out metal on the surface of the gears and bearings."

Will it too make coffee while I wait?

Re: xado

Sounds like snake oil to me. When I can't find any certified independent test results using ASME test specs on the web that usually = snake oil.

Re: xado

After reading the White paper this intrigues me all to he$$.

Are there any Chemists on the Forum that can comment on this technology?

This is not your run of the mill Slick 50 snake oil so I would like to hear about it from someone who knows this kind of chemistry.

TIA

I can't be 100% sure, but I'm 99% sure that this is just another brand of snake oil. It has all of the characteristics of a scam. I did not see a single reputable company or standards organization mentioned by name. If I missed that, please refer me to where you see something legitimate. Just a bunch of technobabble and sales pitch.

Re: xado

I operate http://www.xadogel.com

I just added a "News-Certifications" section which may give you more data to form your opinion with. Most notably, our certification letters from MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, GM, Volkswagen and the American Petroleum Institute.

In over 3 billion in sales, Xado has never had a warranty claim.

I hope this added information helps you with your research.

Re: xado

I have no idea how good, or bad, this product might be. I'll do some research on my own. But here's how I see any additive: you only have so much room for oil/lubricant. Adding anything to the basic lubricant, displaces that lubricant. As there is only so much room available, one might want to be careful about removing any of it. I also consider the mixing of oils as playing chemist. As I'm not a chemist, I'm reluctant to play the role.

Re: xado

If you want to look deeper into this sort of stuff, check out Molydag.
Quite a bit of hi-tec info on the net without all the advertising hype.
We use Molydag 200 here at work for some assembly applications.
(aircraft fuel control).
Seems as both products are more for gears and not so much for bearings so
maybe not much use in a final drive.

Mister,

Your website says: "Xado treated oils have been tested and certified by the
American Petroleum Institute and major OEM engine manufacturers."

I contacted American Petroleum Institute (API) and they said they have no idea what Xado is!
So, I consider your statement a complete lie.

Re: xado

Everything else aside there is no additive known to man that will overcome an over shimmed bearing. Thats all I'll say about it.

Re: xado

This should tell the story. These people also sell "Hydrogen Generators". I've seen these being peddled by various people at our dealerships. They are worthless. Attached is an image of the type of equipment it takes to generate usable hydrogen for a combustion engine.
