Reflective paint?

I just bought a large bag for my trunk rack made of a cordura type material like the T-bags.Does anyone know of a reflective paint that would stay on this type of material? I would like to paint a stripe or something on the back for a little better visibility. Thanks, Rick

You might consider using this. This stuff is the real deal and several on this forum use it with good results.

I think your best bet would be to sew the Solas tape on, really hard to get anything to stick to Cordura.

REFLECT-A-LITE™ paint consists of clear, reflective, aerosol coating that can be applied to items without obscuring original or daylight color. It directly reflects light from flashlights or headlights to increase visibility in the dark, under emergency lighting conditions, or in areas with low ambient light. Product may be applied to rough and complex shapes.

The Solas (Saftey Of Life At Sea) tape is designed to be stuck on lifejackets and to stay on IN water!
The 3M brand is the best there is. It WILL stick!

I of course would not know first hand, nor recomend breaking the law, but there have been reports that the clear reflective spray paint, when applied to license plates, will foil the Redlight cameras that use a flash.

I'm just sayin'.........

You want reflective

The SOLAS tape is good for life vests and objects that do not need to be flexiable. It does not move very well and tends to be stiff. The spray paint is a waste of cash IMHO. For a material to mantain reflectivity, it must contain and retain a retroreflective element like a glass bead. I've seen the spray stuff and the beads are to small to be much good. Sorry to break the myth about the reflective plate holders and such foiling radar. They simply don't have the surface area to be effective and the equipment the LEO's use can be reflected off most any surface. My suggestion for an effective, workable reflective material, the tape used on traffic control vests is the best. It is washable and very reflective. Look up the nearest traffic control supply store and they usually have the vest tape in 2" wide roll goods. The vest tape is also about 3 times brighter than SOLAS.
