BMW CB For 06 K1200lt (VOICE ll)

I got a new CB today - they gave me the wrong one (04 not 06) - anyway when I get the new one I would like some help putting it in. Having prematurely stripping down the bike I don't actually see any spare connectors to connect anything. If anyone has done it or has some instructions (BMW don't supply instructions) I would appreciate the help.

John, I installed the BMW CB into my 2007 a couple of months ago. It's a PITA and took about 6 hours, but works great. In my mind, the most confusing part was hooking into the #5 radio pin. I'll try to answer any questions you may have.

Re: BMW CB For 06 K1200lt (VOICE ll)

I too just finished installing a CB on my new LT. The pin #5 deal had me more than confused but pickerbiker came to the rescue! What a guy. Do an advanced search for my posts and you'll find the exchange between pickerbiker and myself. What made it even harder was BMW had placed the plastic connectors in the wrong place on what is essentially a Y type harness. Took me a second to get my head around that. Once you get the cover off on the bottom side of the stingray and swap the wire in pin #5 you can feed the harness out of the small slot on the cover. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks guys, when the correct one is delivered in a few days I will get back to you if I encounter any problems - expect I will.
The bikes in bits now and I don't see anywhere where anything extra can be connected let alone a CB. But I will wait for the new one to see if all will be revealed!!

I have the newer CB with the Voice II installed on a 2003 LT (dealer did it so I can't really give you instructions, but if you get in a real bind, I could run up there (I am in Mesa) and we could strip my bike down enough to see the connections. (there is a difference in the plugs on the older CBs, they will not work with the Voice II, - been there and tried that).
I work early mornings, so afternoons or weekends are available.
