Fuel supply & return hoses?

Has anyone replaced the fuel supply and return hoses between the fuel pump outlet tubes from the tank and the quick connects?

I had one leak from the end of the hose at the clamp and fixed it by adding a second clamp there.

Since the hoses are 10 years old I would like to replace both if I could find a part number. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Joe

Re: Fuel supply & return hoses?

If it is the hoses outside of the tank just get "fuel injection" fuel hoses from any auto parts store. If you intend to replace the hoses INSIDE the tank, then you are going to be better off getting them from BMW.
The difference is the outer jacket on the hoses. The ones for inside are SAE30R10 spec and cost around $30/foot. The other hoses are SAE30R9 and are cheap. If you use SAE30R9 hose inside the tank the outer jacket will swell and the hose will fail.

BTW, the hoses are all 5/16" inside diameter.

Re: Fuel supply & return hoses?

Thanks for the information.

These are the outside hoses. I'm not able to find anything with a bend similar to the stock hoses so may have to go to the dealer.

I don't see them listed on the oem parts drawings on-line.

I replaced mine with plain injection hose and made them a little longer to compensate for the bend I needed.

Thank you.

Re: Fuel supply & return hoses?

Good luck getting the hoses from BMW. I waited a month to get three of them; after 6-weeks of waiting for the 4th 90-degree hose, I gave up.

Yeah.. use Fuel Injector hose.. if you need to make bends.. you could use some brass barbed 90's...with screw stainless steel clamps to keep tight hose turns from "crimping"

Re: Fuel supply & return hoses?

I bought some fuel injection hoses for a car, with the bend already in them and then cut them to size.

Yup, that's a great idea, too, Grif! When Misty needs new tubing I'm going to do that... where possible.
