Rear drive oil measurement

Does anyone know how to make a rear drive oil measurement tool? I seemed to have lost mine.

There is no such tool. Fill the rear to the bottom of the threads.

Dan's right, by filling it to the bottom of the threads you will have the correct amount on board, no need to measure out the .25 quarts.

At least BMW got ONE thing right about the rear drive!

I read on another post to use a baby bottle. Wal-Mart sells three for about 2.00. I gave two to friends and they just love it. The bottle has oz on one side and CC's on the other. Just cut the nibble off a little. I never spill a drop.

Re: Rear drive oil measurement

When I buy the gear oil the container has a pointed end. I just cut a bit off the end and fill it up till the thing is full. No need for exta fillers or bottles. It will not spill as the end fits into the fill hole. Just take your time and it will be fine.
