well I've finally joined the club and I need some advice

What a day! The wife and I took a little trip to Helen, Ga to see what that Oktoberfest thing is all about. Started out well, we had fun walking around checking out the sights and eating some German food. As we were preparing to leave the parking lot for the ride home it happened. Looking at the exit it had all the warning signs for making a drop happen. Slightly uneven, too sharp of a turn to get out, lots of traffic to work with (pedestrian and cagers), and one slightly drunk significant other on the back...hindsight is 20/20 after all. Well, as I pull out i had too little speed and too sharp of a turn and down she went on the right side. I did the old "butt in the seat" lift with the legs and it worked like a champ. Damage is minor, scrapes on the chrome strips and the j-peg, a slight bend on the rear brake lever. However, some strange things happened on the 1.5 hour ride home. At first the intercomm kept keying...about once every 20-30 seconds..then after 5 or 10 minutes the radio stopped playing anything. You could tell that the intercomm wasn't continuously on because of the changes in noise whenever we talked to each other. The intercomm worked fine and the GPS can still talk to me, but no music...any ideas? I've tried turning the bike on and off and turning the radio on and off. Next, I'm going to try the battery disconnect I've read about here and I'll let you know how that works. In the end we had a great day (for the most part) and no-one got hurt, just some wounded pride. Seems like these things always happen with an audience though.
One last thing, how can I get a DA sticker? It only took a year and a half and 10K miles, but I did earn it after all.

If you have an autocom, might check to see if everything is plugged in okay.

Glad you didn't hurt yourself or the SO. But, DA stickers are not available; there are those that have and those that will. I'm a "have."

But, if you must: $50.00 for a tat on your forehead might be the enduring reminder you seek (do it backwards, the mirror will make sense).

If the "tat" isn't your thing, PM me your address. I have one "DA" and one "If you can read this... Stop laughing and help me pick up my LT."

Too little speed and too sharp of a turn on the LT, especially two up, can pretty much always be counted on to produce bad results. Glad you're okay.

Re: well I've finally joined the club and I need some advice

Just a quick update. I disconnected the battery leads for about an hour today. Seems like this may have "reset" the radio. It's working for now but I can't be sure until I can take it out for an extended test ride. Looks like I have an excuse to go out for a couple of hours now!!
