2002 K1200LT-E alarm remotes

I looked in my alarm manual and searched here with no luck.

New BMW owner here and last week I picked up my 2002 K1200LT from the dealer. The previous owner had already changed the alarm to the B settings, thank you very much. I have 2 remotes and the LED on turn off shows 2 remotes. So far so good. Both remotes arm and disarm the system. One remote is "well used" having the logo worn off. When I disarm with the well used remote I get 2 flashes of signals and 2 beeps. With the pristine remote I get 1 flash and 1 beep. Is this normal? Is it just a way of identifying the remotes?

Thanks,
Chris

Re: 2002 K1200LT-E alarm remotes

Chris,

It could be. There were three different series of alarms used on the LT. I just tried my 05 and the arm -dis arm light and beep sequence was the same for both FOBs. Maybe another 2002 owner out there can confirm this feature.

Cool Re: 2002 K1200LT-E alarm remotes

The manual states that you should get 2 beeps and 2 flashes when the system
is in the B mode. There is no mention about only getting one of the remotes that does this. Maybe try to resynchronizing the remote control. Good luck.

Re: 2002 K1200LT-E alarm remotes

Thanks John & Steve. The funny part is that even the "one beep" remote will both arm and disarm the system. I'l try synching the remote, that didn't dawn on me. Looks like I should be thankful that the previous owner had already changed it from the the A to the B setting though.

Re: 2002 K1200LT-E alarm remotes

I did get two remotes. It's just that one of them makes the bike beep different when disarming. But they both work. I can arm it with either remote, sit on her, bring her upright off the side stand and she screams away. Then either remote will disarm her. I guess it's just an oddity.
