Rider West Flash and Lower LED

After seeing a thread awhile back on visibility I thought I needed to start getting pro active on the rear.

With Motor lights up front on the calibers I got that. It was time for the rear

A search provided many solutions but Rider West had what I wanted.

Always flash my brakes by hand on a stop and if I am last in a line a see traffic coming in the rear view mirrors.

So the flash unit for the trunk LED looked good to saving me a micro switch down the road.

Second I wanted LED in the rear someplace and that big black piece of ABS mud flap looked like a big spot.

Rider West got those two covered and the prices on these two items was very small.

And you receive a very BRIGHT, EASY to install, LARGE return for your buck.

Can you tell I am pleased?

I rode in all kinds of traffic today, highway, rural, city, and really pushed it going West at sunset in traffic, and in all instances, people stayed off my a&&. And sitting in West bound traffic last "car" is a good test.

Not Affiliated, just the best items I have bought for my bike that was a pleasure to use, and of great value to my safety.

In the pic of the flasher module, I taped all the leads and of course dialectic them.

I am just Mr overdo

Here is some pics:

In addition to the bike's rearward visibility/attention, as seen by others, Larry (RiderWest owner) has improved on the side and side-angle views of the LT's lighting as well.

I can't get the wmv file to play, so here is a jpeg view. I think his normal mod arrangement is one color of LEDs, equally spaced along the edge of the tip-over covers and running front to back. I chose to put a gap at the usual touch-down point of the cover, as well as electing to install amber LEDs along the leading edge, and red LEDs along the trailing edge.

Raffy sells the kits, which are excellent in the DIY instructional material enclosed - soldering skills are a must - and the install is a snap.

Re: Rider West Flash and Lower LED

Thanks for all the kind words. I thought I'd let everyone know that I changed the tip-over wing kit. It's much simpler to install know. Instead of using discreet LEDs and resistors (that was a lot of soldering), I now use an LED strip on the tip-over wing. The strip uses SMD (surface mounted) LEDs and is very thin, brighter, and more reliable. You drill one hole for the wire and stick the strip on. Bingo--you're done (except for wiring it to your lights). Anyway, my web site now shows the new style kit.

Lee is the first to buy and install the new taillight kit--nice job Lee. Thanks for your support. Raffy now has these in stock.

Hi Brett,

I'll be there, but I won't be installing the taillight kit. I'll just be selling them. However, if you bring a jigsaw, I'll help you do your own install...
