Ohlins SHock- 1999 work on 2006?

I pulled my Ohlins off of my 99LT when before I got rid of it. I have a 2006LT and was wondering if anyone could tell me if the rear shock will work or not. According to the info on the web-site it is a different shock. I know the rear suspension was supposed to be changed a bit on the later models, but I was hoping someone could give me a little more info on the changes and how if might affect using the earlier Ohlins.

Thanks

Yes. I took the shocks from my 02 (same frame as a 99) and ran them on my 05. They're still on there, just ask Raffy! There was a slight change in the casting near the top of the shock mount from pre to post 05 models and you may have to dremel a little bit of the waffle pattern (you'll see it when you get there). It's removing less than 1/8 inch of material in a very localized spot, about the size of a 50 cent piece, so no danger of weakening anything with the frame; it's really thick in that area.

Re: Ohlins SHock- 1999 work on 2006?

It was my understanding that the Ohlins 1999 model shocks would not work on an 05 model, so I ended up buying new Ohlins for my 05 model.
