Red face 2000 K1200LT Rear Rotor Upgrade

I want to replace OEM rear rotor for a EBC rear rotor. Does the ABS gear come off so I can put the ABS gear on the EBC rear rotor? I have removed the three (3) screws, but the ABS gear does not come off even with a tap from a rubber hammer? Rotor sounds like a cow bell

Yes, the ABS gear is removed from the old and installed on the new. It takes some persuasion as it is a very tight fit but that is the procedure. Work it carefully until it breaks loose and then reinstall on the EBC rotor.

I just bought a used LT and found out about the rear rotor problems. The new rotors are on back order and I was wondering if you would share the EBC part number for the rotor you are putting on your LT.

Re: 2000 K1200LT Rear Rotor Upgrade

I just called my local EBC dealer and they have to call the distributor to find out the price and availability because they aren't listed on their price sheet. In the meantime, I'm wondering what Thor or others paid for the rotor so I can keep these guys honest.

Thanks for all the help. This forum has been an invaluable resource so far!

I am using EBC rotor and pad combination.

Having problems getting the ABS gear to release for OME rotor. Any ideas other then time lubrication and "tough love"?
