droped it

well it happened. rode to the mountains for a 4 day vacation. First time in the hills. Backing into a parking space. "no choice." thank goodness I asked the SO to get off. the trailer was resting against a rail-road-tie. When I started to deploy the center-stand, the bike would not go up because of the pressure against the rail-road-tie. when i released the button the bike was sent forward with great momentum. it was too much. I couldnt hold it, and down it went. no major damages, just my pride. Wife and I could not lift the damn thing.

on a side note. the trip was great. the LT is a fine motorcycle. 900 miles in 4 1/2 days. Rode the dragon, twice, smokey mountain parkways. etc. It is really good in that environment.

Re: droped it

Dale,

Sorry to hear it, glad only your pride was hurt. Now that you have it out of your system, you can scratch it off of your bucket list and let someone else have a turn. I dropped my 03 3 times, like you, all three times between 0 and 1mph.

Re: droped it

Welcome to the club. I had mine in the first couple of weeks owning my bike. I thought how could so many people drop their bike, how hard could it be to keep it up?

Here's one to avoid.. If you are backing into the garage, and your cell phone rings, DON'T ANSWER IT!! "Hello, OH %&$#."

Re: droped it

Triple ditto on the dropping. Screw the power center stand, what we need is a power side stand to lift the fat pig after us little guys drop her. Most of us are too old for another hernia.

I agree....I dropped the girl 3 times on the way to CCR. All at 0 mph. Once at the top of Beartooth Pass! Never dropped her before.
