This kind of thing really pisses me off . . .

One of the things that really irks me is all the attention my BMW K1200LT gets from the lesser, more commonplace marques.

For example, this afternoon my wife and I were tooling around Larkspur, Colorado on our roundabout return from the CCR event in Utah. We found a nice little out of the way spot and decided to stop and have a milkshake. A great little place.

Well, wouldn't you know it? Just twenty minutes later we leave to saddle up for another leg of the trip and we discover our LT has been surrounded by some of those pauper vehicles I mentioned . . . in this case, a few Ferraris and Lamborghinis. They were all fighting to get to the front so they could ogle the LT better. Ferchristsakes, I've never seen such ill-mannered machinery!

Well, they just sat there, staring at the LT, drooling coolant and God-knows-what-else all over the pavement. Sally and I hate this -- it happens all the time -- so we hurried to get in our gear and got the hell out of there before the Italian road trash started fighting amongst themselves. I snapped a quick pic just to document the bad behavior.

Motor Vehicle Envy: One more reason no one should buy an LT.

Re: This kind of thing really pisses me off . . .

It's kinda funny ... but when I toured with my Honda V65s, people would gather around and talk about it. When I toured with my LT, people would gather around and talk about it. When I toured with my Kaw ZX-11 Ninja, people would gather around and talk about it. When I tour with my GT, people gather around and talk about it.

Y'all notice a pattern?

Should've waited to see which exotic mounted the LT first. Breeding rights and all that jazz.

Re: This kind of thing really pisses me off . . .

I found a perfect way to get the attention off of me. I talked a friend into buying a Victory Vision and now he gets all the attention. Something that different looking turns all the heads and now I can enjoy myself without having to talk to everyone.

The other way is to just never stop. Great picture.

I could play with women or with cars, I find cars are cheaper and you can write a book about cars a guy would understand.

I've seen those same cars in many different places across the state. I am guessing that one of the car magazines is doing a story on them.

You just have to feel sorry for that road trash crowd. I mean, really, what do they have to live for? Try to cut them a little slack and understand that not everyone is fortunate enough to own an LT.

Maybe, but one of the residents in the shop said they were owned by a local guy who has a stable of 20-30 cars. Too bad they all have four wheels.

[For example, this afternoon my wife and I were tooling around Larkspur, Colorado]

I grew up in the area (south of Castle Rock) and I don't ever remember seeing that type of machinery. Things must have really improved in that part of the country
