Power Center Stand acting up...

My 06 LT has had no issues when putting it up on the power stand but in the last two days I have noticed that it takes two attempts to lift the beast. On the first attempt it does not have enough oomph, shakes and sits back down as it seems to be too weak for the task. Press the button again and she goes up all the way.

There is no fluid leaking on the floor but I have noticed on previous oil changes that the unit seems to be covered in a glue like residue.

Any ideas of what I am dealing with here before I take it to the dealer for warranty inspection?

Thanx to all that chime in...

Re: Power Center Stand acting up...

In hot weather, especially after heavy traffic, you will experience the symptoms you just described. Just put the bike on the side stand and come back a few minutes later and try again.
If hot weather is not your issue... the good news is that your bike is still under warranty. I had my dealer replace the unit after it failed to actuate altogether, just weeks before my warranty expired.

Re: Power Center Stand acting up...

My '06 did the same kind of thing. It would get part way up then release. It would take a couple of tries to get it up It finaly got to the point that it would not lift the bike without help. A shiny new unit was installed by my dealer under warranty.
