Fuel Line QDs

Does anyone know the ID size of the fuel lines on an 03 LT. Has anyone ever just canned the QDs and replaced with fuel line adapters. I know it would be more trouble when removing tank but will it cause any problems in fuel delivery.

Thanks
Doug

Re: Fuel Line QDs

I believe the closest fractional size is 5/16" ID. Search the Hall of Wisdom for the suppliers and exact part numbers.

The QD's are the best thing I've seen to deal with fuel lines. They may seem to be a PITA, but having seen how much gas sprays out when you separate a fuel line that doesn't have the QD, they aren't such a pain.

From 1999 to 2000 there weren't any QD's, so the answer to your question is.....

Ready?

...... no.

I replaced the QD's on my 03 a few months ago.

Jack at RPW will know the size.

And when/if you order 'em, order the *double close* set. Upon separation, both parts close off.

Also, you'll prolly find this info somewhere around here, butt here is a refresher post. When you install 'em, put one of 'em laterally opposite the other. That way, after they are disconnected, and you're ready to hook 'em back up, you won't get the four lines/hoses crossed up.

Re: Fuel Line QDs

I recently had no choice on my 03 LT. Going to work it started puking gasoline. The plastic male disconnect had cracked. I called the dealer where I just had service and they said it would be several days before they could get it in. About 2 hours later and a trip to the autos store and it was fixed with a fuel line splice kit and a couple hose clamps. $12.

Re: Fuel Line QDs

Mine started puking fuel on a group ride from Granbury, TX to McAlester, OK yesterday. It was the same thing as the previous post. The plastic piece had broken. Since we were forced to do a combat repair, we just removed the QD and plugged the line in directly. I'm not sure if I'll replace the QD or not. Doesn't seem to matter much.

Re: Fuel Line QDs

It will when you have to do a major service and remove the fuel tank.
