top box latch

does anyone have both pieces of a broken top box latch? i want to see how difficult it will be to make one. mine broke a couple of weeks ago but it is serviceable for now. this afternoon i disconnected the broke side and hope it will last a while longer. if you can send me one, i will reimburse for the cost of mailing or if you live near savannah, ga (50 miles or so) i will come and get it. please send me a private message. thank you. omurphy

Re: top box latch

Search "Trunk Latch"

Already replacements out there.

Had mine replaced once under warranty, now I'm more carefull not to force it.

Re: top box latch

yeah i know there are replacements available but i don't want to pay for a replacement when i can make my own. i checked the price and i think they are high. i would use my own broken latch as a pattern but i wouldn't have any thing to keep the box closed until i made a new one.

Re: top box latch

Its a faulty design, not a "forcing" issue.

Plus, they make a LOT of profit selling the new trunk bottom containing a working new latch.
