What a Ride!

Left Georgia July 31 and returned home 10 days later after 5,050 miles to the Rockies and Back. Was in Denver the second day. Made 900 miles the first day, and 732 the second. Slowed down after that. This was a great trip. Had to stop in Omaha, NE coming back to have my tires replaced. Otherwise the trip went without a hitch. Stopped in Sturgis a couple days on my way through South Dakota. Beautiful country, The Bear Tooth Highway out of YellowStone was a real adventure.
This was my first trip on the LT. I really enjoyed it. Had to get an air hawk while at Sturgis. This helped a lot. I am considering a new seat & backrest now. But now it is time for the next service, before I make another trip.

Re: What a Ride!

Glad you had a great ride. I just got back from a 4200 mile ride myself. My 05 now has 44K and I love this bike more now then ever. The fat lady grows on you. The more you ride the more you enjoy her. I would never have beleived that when I think back to my fist few months with my previous 01LT. I was convinced then that I need an RT or ST. I'm just gald I lietend to the folks on this board who told me hang in there with her for while before you decide in soemthing different. With the exception of beating down an interstate in 100 plus degrees I don't get tired of riding her. While the LT has a few minor quirks, I just hope they don't radically change the bike in 2010. Last trip was solo but will be making the CCR trip with my GIB (girl in back), so 750 mile days are out. To tell the truth, I actually enjoy a 400 - 500 mile days much more. Lots of stops and time to really enjoy the ride. While I know the interstate highway system was great for this country, good secondary roads are the only way to enjoy travelling. Ride safe & enjoy!
