High beam HID install

I did a little searching and never seemed to come up with a good answer to this. The H3 bulb I got with my HID kit seems to work jsut fine in out of bike testing, using the tab that held the bulb in place as the ground. But as I try to figure a way to install the bulb into the housing I get loss. It doesn't fit into the black plastic housing, I can see where the metal ring would fit over the top of it but I can't get the black plastic housing to mate with the metal ring. Does anybody feel my pain? or at least understand? And is the low beam going to be that same pain?

But I was wondering about ideas to adjust my high beam down from the tree tops to a usefull position. The low beam is great.

Re: High beam HID install

I thought the high beam was the racoon hunters option LOL
It looks like the shape/length of the HID bulb is longer and sits out further than stock bulb giving a WICKED/BRIGHT high beam .I have not come up with a plan to lower it ,but would also be up for some ideas ,until will have to not use it on oncoming drivers .

Re: High beam HID install

I've been struggling with the high beam for a while now. For while it was off to the left and up about 10 degrees. I tried to make a cushion around the bulb with electrical tape to get the bulb to sit straight and that worked well, it put the light right where it's supposed to be, but it's really not held that well that way.
I just got back from a ride to Nova Scotia and the rough roads really beat the bike up pretty good. Now I have a short in the headlight that is turning off both high and low circuits whenever I hit a bump. I'll be pulling the light apart again over the next couple days to try to diagnose the problem (possibly the ground wire) and will remember to take some pictures this time to explain better what I did to make it fit.
