Diagnostic plug?

Hello:
I have the "NO RADIO" message appearing on my 2000 LT. I have tried the battery disconnect several times w/out any luck.
In the Clymer repair book in the wiring diagrams section pg#604 it shows a diagnostic plug in the radio circuit. Anyone know if I take the bike to a dealer if they can test at that point to see if the radio is bad or if the radio LCD display has gone bad? I did pull the radio out once and the fuse in the radio was ok. Also does anyone know if I must replace the radio will I have to replace it with a cassette plyer unit or could I use a cd player type?
The problem developed a few weeks ago during a trip in the mid west rain storms. Three days of riding in a car wash... Thanks.
