Red face Headlight Adjustment

I have installed the CQ HID and it seems to put out a lot of close in white light. My problem is that with the headlight adjuster set to the highest, the headlight still seems to be aimed too low. The top of the focused beam hits the flat road about 220' away. There is little light above that line. Is there an adjustment to move the highest setting higher? Not one car flashed me tonight with the lights all the way up.

I have run searches and looked in the HoW for my question and nothing comes up.

Ken Meese posted the adjustment procedures in the HoW (d.6). You need to use the adjusting screw at the back (bottom right) of the headlight. It is just about possible to reach without having to disassemble the front fairing.

David,
Did Ken Meese get that info from the BMW LT maintenance CD ?.
If so, it looks pretty good.

Yes, this info is provided in the Repair Manual (Section 63 - Lights).

Cool

Thank you for the link. I "thought" I had done a good search before my post. Great info, too.

Glad the link worked for you guys. I don't like posting large chunks of the maintenance manual online, but proper headlight adjustment is a safety item.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
