Exclamation LT Radio - Just died?

Have a 2005, just had the 6 pak CD replaced and low and behold not 15 minutes into the ride the whole radio system goes dead. On/Off switch lites up the panel but nothing works. Checked the fuses and all OK. Can someone help? Is there an inline fuse or thoughts on problem.
Thanks much,
Mike

Re: LT Radio - Just died?

Tried the 'disconnect the battery trick' I found after posting my original note and darn if it didn't work! Now for the real questions, why does this happen and better yet, why does the disconnect thing restore the function?

Re: LT Radio - Just died?

I can't say if it is the only cause, but my radio started doing this when the battery became weak. The radio would always come on when I turned on the key but would not always come back on after starting the engine. I replaced the BMW gel battery with a Panasonic AGM battery about a year and a half ago and haven't had any problems with the radio since. YMMV

Unhappy Re: LT Radio - Just died?

Have simular problem on mates LT. Radio dies, display drops to lowest frequency, L/H control panel does not work but if hit switch to GPS the controls will work. He has had it in to BMW on several occasions and they were unable to fix problem. I have got it going again but how I don't know. (Originally started by disconnection battery but this didn't work). Have stripped tupperware off to get to radio wiring plugs, cleaned them with air and spray, this lasts for about two months then it all happens again. I am thankfull that I don't have the same problem with my LT( instead I just keep blowing front brake hoses)
