Question Oil Weight, Texas Summer Riding

My 99 LT is getting prepped for long, hot Summer rides here in Texas and the GA Mountain Rally next month. What would be forum's recommendations for the proper oil weight. I am getting some unusual engine noise (sounds like lifter knock) since my last dealer oil change. I suspect a lighter weight oil was used and I may not be getting good lubrication to the value lifters... any insight would be appreciated.

20W 50 will work just fine.

I use the gold label mobil 15/50. I would suspect the stock 20/50 would be fine. I am sure someone can correct me if I am wrong but thats what I would use.

Your receipt should list the oil they used.

I use 20X50 year round. I could probably go with straight 50, but the 20X50 works fine.
