Question Are '08s gone?

Folks,
I'm finally getting around to replacing my LT that I totaled last fall. One dealer near me told me that there are no more '08s in the warehouse. He also told me that the '09s will be more expensive, (dollar to euro ratio), and will not include the intercom system. Can anyone confirm this?

Also, if any of you know of a blue '08 LT at a dealer, please let me know where it is.

Thanks,

George Barnes

Cool Re: Are '08s gone?

I bought one at my dealer here in Santa Rosa CA last week. They had 3 other dealers trying to trade for the 1 LT in their stock; but I bought it! They searched the system and found only 5 in CA; the other 4 were black. The dealer also told me that there were only 20 total in the US! But that sometimes dealers tend to 'hide' their valuable inventory to not be bothered with trades from other dealers.

My dealer also mentioned the same items that you were concerned with for 09; higher price and less standard toys.

So in short, I'm sorry but I don't know of any blue 08's, but I would buy one now if it were me - even if it were black!

I do not believe the Las Vegas dealer has any '08s left but has one '09 - it only comes in one color - "Black"

All this fuss over color and the 09's with only Black. I guess they are following Henry Ford's response to availability of multiple colors on the new, assembly line Model T's..."of course you can have any color you want, as long as it's BLACK"!!!!!!!!

Thumbs up Thanks!

This site is great! I now have to figure out which of about four of the dealers that have blue ones in stock, and with which I have some kind of "connection", I want to deal with. Then there's always the question of how far away it is from me, the further the better, (hey, the MOA mileage contest is on!).

Thanks again everyone!

Not sure. If you are referring to the dad then I think that he has handed it off to his son. Elder Brown was at an open house about a month ago.

Re: Are '08s gone?

Mortons in Fredericksburg VA has a blue and a black 08. I'm heading to California VIA Chicago and RT66 the first week of May. I would be happy to pick it up for you and break it in on the trip west and deliver it to you in CO when the trip is over. Or another suggestion fly out to DC, call me to pick you up at the airport and deliver you to Mortons and you can break it in on the way back to CO. Two days of short 300 mile day trips in for the 600 mi service and ride it like you stole it back home.
