I used to ride with the OEM seat in the high setting. When Rick Mayer made my seat, he designed it to work in the low setting - I assume that this is what he did for you.
I asked him about this, and he told me that it was beacuse it's not a simple case of raising and lowering the seat for height consideration. He told me to always leave my seat in the lower position, because raising it causes completely different dynamics as far as weight distribution, and therefore, the effect on your a$$.
I never raise my seat anymore (even though the adjustment bar is still in place on the pan). Rick probably used one of his pans on your seat, and the bar was gone. I doubt he even noticed. If the seat is comfortable, I wouldn't worry about it.
