body panel removal

Hi all, does anyone have some illustrations of how to remove the side panels on a 2004 LT. Which and how many screws? Do the J-pegs have to come off etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: body panel removal

best thing to do if you dont have a manual is either get a clymer (if you plan on doing work yourself ) or download a cheapo version off somewhere like ebay.

You can start by taking off your tip over wings 2 screws underneath
silver section 3 screws
3 screws at tabs
turn signal 1 screw ( 2 inside on the panel)
3 screws on your wind deflector ( 1 inside on panel)
3 on tank cover( you have to remove the entire u shape piece)
one under the seat
pull the tab through the rubber grommet on the side of the bike and lift the side panel off.

As I dont have jpegs you are on your own there unless someone tells you how to get them loose.

Re: body panel removal

Print one of these out and keep it with the bike,

you won't need it after you've done it a few times.
