Cee Bailey Windshield Questions

I am 6 feet tall and would like to order a # 2. I want to have the option of seeing over it in the low position and have complete protection in the up position so curious if others my height have ordered and at what size?
Also did you buy it tinted or clear? With side wings or without? Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

Re: Cee Bailey Windshield Questions

I am 6' 3" and had to get a minus 2" in order to see comfortably over the top. I also got a tinted one because it looks good, is different and I can still see over the top. No wings, but that would be a benefit in the winter I imagine. I have read of it blocking too much air in the Summer.

Re: Cee Bailey Windshield Questions

I'm 5'10" and have a #2-2 with wings. I can easily see over in in the down position and when up, it is above my line of sight. The wings offer great protection too. My wife praises the better protection compared to the BMW tall shield I had originally.

I am 5'11" and have the euro cut -2 with wings .When I replace it due to a large rock I will be ordering a -4.It's way to tall in the upright position .I can see over it fine but would like to get a little more air in the down position due to the wings.

I am 6'6", ordered the +2 +4, in the down position the top edge is in line of vision, should have ordered the +2 -2

Re: Cee Bailey Windshield Questions

Your height has nothing to do with it. How much of your height is legs and how much is body. It varies a great deal. My suggestion: go to a rally where they and other aftermarket windshields are present. Try them out. They will let you do it and you will find the one for you. Everyone has different needs and expectations. Height alone will not be a good guide for you.

I tried a Cee Bailey shield at the MOA Rally this past Summer. I tried a bunch of them. I ended up buying something else that fit my needs. I am not slamming Cee Bailey, just saying try it before you buy it. That is, unless you have the time and $ to keep exchanging til you find the one you want.

Re: Cee Bailey Windshield Questions

You might want to check out the Sportshield. I have the 18" model on my LT. At 5'10" I'am able to see over the windshield in its highest position. The domed top of this windshield moves the air up and over your head. Most dealers who carry Cee Baileys will have demo windshields for you to try. Bought mine at Mortons in Fredericksburg...tried three different windshield before going with the Sportshield. You might try the Adventure BMW in Chesapeake.

I've got to ditto the body/leg bit.. I'm 6'4" with the CB +2 & it's just right for me. Anything less and I'd get rain in the face.. Note that if it's cold enough to require a full face bucket, I won't ride.....

Re: Cee Bailey Windshield Questions

I have both of the #2's at -4. The winged verison is very nice is cold weather or 2 up, the other I like for warmer weather. One is tinted and the other is not, I like the light grey tint better (looks better). Your upper body lenght is the important factor here not height or inseam. Go try them.

Re: Cee Bailey Windshield Questions

I am a 5'9", and had a #2 -2, and I could barely see over it in the down position. I sold it, and bought a #2-4, and while I love it, my wife says it lets too much wind on her when it is down. I think a -3 would have been perfect for me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try them before I bought.

Re: Cee Bailey Windshield Questions

I'm 5'10, 32" inseam. #2 with wings -4 works great for me.

When riding above 50 mph my SO likes the shield up a bit.

I way over analyzed the wings. I didn't want it to be too hot in
the summer. After installing it I realized it mirrored the standard
wings on the LT and makes no difference down anyway.
