after market mufflers

I'm very happy with a 2002 low milage k1200lt I recently bought. I think the BMW K1200LT is the best motorcycle made and plan a trip to Alaska in June of 2006 as well as riding it mucho in the mean while. I was wondering if anybody on the forum knows of an aftermarket muffler or stock muffle mod that can be done to change the sound of the K1200LT to reflects the actual power and handling of the motorcycle? Are there other riders that feel as I do? Must be!
Thanks in advance. B123ma

I am a person that buys aftermarket stuff. Seats, windshields and other stuff. Usually after a while I wish that I had not gotten it and wasted money.

I got a 99 LT about a year ago. I too, read all the post about mufflers and the "chip". Heard some ya's and nopes. I was scared, but it was painless and bought if from a boardmember on this site. It was nice to pm him to find out when the pipe and chip would arrive.

Put it on. The sound and the feel of the motor. The chip took all the bumps, misses and hestiations out of the motor. The exhaust and chip was the best aftermarket investment I have ever made, and would do it again.

Get the Remus Exhaust and the Rhinewest Chip. Better sound, less engine vibration at higher rev's and between 8 - 10 extra horsepower. Worth every penny. ron

I certainly think it's better than another finger choice they could make...
