2006 vs. 2007

What is the difference between a 2006 and 2007 LT?

Nothing really. The 07's seemed to get shipped with more factory options installed. Nav pre wire, intercom, HID, top rack etc...

You can add all of those things, but it's expensive.

I just picked up a 2006. I first looked at a 2008 at the dealer. The only difference with the 2006 is it does not have the comm installed. It has every other option the 2008 has. However I do not know if the original owner ordered it that way or not. I do plan on adding a GPS (it is prewired for it), and a comm system, which ones I get depends on how much I can sell my '86 goldwing for.

Somewhere between 03 and 07 they changed the mount for the radio antenna - much cleaner connection. I was told that the 07 has slightly evolved brakes from 06, but don't know details. I do know the 07 brakes are nowhere near as touchy as the 02.

The FM antenna mount on my 03 is the looks the same as the 08's.

There haven't been any changes to the LT's servo assisted linked brakes since 2002. (other BMW models have had several changes to the brake system since 02)

Some time in '06 BMW started adding some of the options as standard, so there is a difference between early and late 2006 models. Mine is a late '06 model and has most of the same standard features (VOICE II, remote central locks, xenon lights, topcase rack) as the '07-'08 models. The only thing the later models got standard was the GPS prep, choice of windscreens, and the inferior soft touch seat.

The '07 antenna mount doesn't have the compression spring in the base when you remove the mast which may be the difference referrenced.

Color palette is slightly different: different blue color between years and dark charcoal grey metallic vs flat black in '07. Medium grey metallic is the same for '06 and '07.
